Different Types of Cancer
A disease called cancer affects mostly the cells of our bodies. Our cells behave abnormally when they are affected by this disease like diving themselves too quickly or in an incorrect manner. The cells look different under microscope than the way they are supposed to when they divide themselves in an incorrect way. Many parts of our body can be affected by cancer. The most affected regions are lungs and breasts. Cancer is of different types and even how to treat them is different. Thyroid cancer is growing to be a threat these days. There are two various kinds of thyroid cancer. The two types of thyroid cancers are papillary and follicular are the common ones amongst others. The two cancers are different because even the symptoms, treatment methods and survival rates are different.
There is an institute called the national cancer institute that researches mainly on cancer. Breast cancer is an example of those diseases that the cancer research on. The most feared disease that people fear is breast cancer because they get diagnosed with it every year. It is common to many people especially women which makes it be known by almost everyone. Breast cancer draws a significant amount of attention in the media, and fundraising efforts. Breast cancers have some other subtypes of cancers.
Examples of subtypes of breast cancer are ductal carcinoma, invasive lobular carcinoma and inflammatory breast cancer. Different parts of our bodies are affected by these cancers, and this is why different methods of treatment are used. The lungs cancer is the second most common type of cancer. Lung cancers affect only our lungs and bronchus. Also, lung cancer is divided into other subtypes. Three of the most common lung cancers are non-small cell carcinoma, small cell carcinoma and lung carcinoid tumours.
Non-small lung cancer is the one that is a common type of lung cancer. Lung cancer is mostly caused by smoking. It is a fatal disease because most of the victims end up perishing. Another type of cancer called prostate cancer also is considered as a threat because deaths occur to victims. Like the lung and breast cancer, also prostate cancer has subtypes. Survival chances of prostate cancer are high if prostate cancer is found at an early age.
There is a different type of cancer called colorectal cancer. Colon cancer and rectal cancer are the two different types of this cancer. The two parts of our bodies that colorectal cancer effects are the colon and rectum. If not treated using the right methods, this type of cancer can be a threat and even cause deaths. Surgery will not be used as a treatment method if this cancer is found at an early age.
